Emily Rowe

Dover Court International School Singapore Emily Rowe Year 5 teacher

Year 5 Class Teacher (5ER)

Emily graduated from Plymouth University completing a BA Hons degree in History. Soon after, she qualified as a teacher with a PGCE specialising in Mathematics.

Whilst studying for her History degree, Emily also spent time working with children at an American summer camp and later working as an Au Pair in Spain. Between studies, Emily also travelled around South America where she volunteered in a Peruvian school. This is where she found her passion for working with children which led to her becoming a teacher.

Emily is originally from Bristol and spent 5 years teaching in the city before moving to Singapore. During her time as a teacher in England, Emily thoroughly enjoyed getting involved in all aspects of school life, including running netball, cricket, rounders, swimming and basketball clubs. She has also worked across both KS1 and KS2 and had many roles including; Mathematics coordinator, Design and Technology coordinator, Infant/Junior liaison
officer and Teacher Representative for the PTA.

Emily believes that children thrive in a positive and inspiring environment and aims to create that ethos every day. She loves to see children engaged in creative and exciting lessons, and is passionate about encouraging children to be independent and to develop their confidence.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys being outdoors exploring new places. She is a keen sportswoman, playing competitive netball regularly. Emily is also an avid traveller, having spent many holidays abroad and is thrilled to be making the most of exploring in and around
Singapore.
