Many of our primary adventurers have been out and about exploring this week. We believe that every young child should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development. Year 6 have been to
to support their learning about ‘classification’ in science; F3 ventured out to
the Museum of Ethnology
to explore, first hand, the difference between houses and homes in the past and present and Year 4 visited the VietClimb climbing wall to gain a real sense of adventure through setting themselves personal challenges. Reports on all of the trips can be found on the BIS Hub this week.
This week, BIS also hosted a
Touch Rugby Tournament
, to celebrate the Rugby World Cup, for all of our Year 5 and 6 pupils. We were lucky to have the BVIS children join us for the competition too. Thank you to Mr. Wilcox and Mr. Atkinson for organizing and running a super event.
Last weekend, I was fortunate to join members of our BIS community on a trip to visit one of our community partners, the SOS Children’s Village. BIS children, parents and staff worked alongside children who live at the SOS Village to create interesting artwork inspired by nature. I would like to thank Ms. Elliott, Ms. Hussain and Ms. Kaye for organizing the trip and activities and look forward to our next community trip.
I would like to wish you all a very enjoyable holiday next week and look forward to the start of the next half term on October 26th.
