The competition was suitably challenging, but our students had a great time. In their own words:
"After a gruelling individual round, aptly named the "Genius" test, we moved onto the Escape Room round - where we were give 40 minutes to solve six challenging interlinked questions. Team BIS1 - Thuy-Linh, Carl, Thanh, and Nathaniel - managed to complete the challenge in a winning time of 9 minutes and 53 seconds, beating second place by five minutes. The subsequent Team round and Creative round was less successful for BIS, however. Overall, the SLC was an enjoyable challenge that exercised our brains to the max."
Nathaniel Vo, Thuy-Linh Le, Thanh Tran, and Carl Chua
BIS 3 (Tom Lee, Jin Ho Kim, Zhou Jun Lim and Seo Young Jung) and BIS 2 (Jun Won Hwang, Jeremie Luong, Il Kyu Kim, and Joseph Shin) also performed exceptionally well achieving 14th and 20th respectively in the overall rankings. We look forward to hosting the Junior Logic Competition next year which will be organised and run by the Year 12 Student Maths Leaders, many of whom participated at last weekend’s event.
