Beginning at Rainbow Divers they first watched a video which told them about the skills they would later be trying. Having successfully completed their question papers, they then made their way round to the BIS HCMC Junior Campus pool for the practical part of the course.
One by one they were introduced to the equipment and steadily took their first breaths underwater. It is clear from the photos that they all found this an amazing experience. Quickly they gained confidence and were attempting skills such as mask clearance and regulator retrieval. Forward rolls and backward rolls followed, as the young divers broke free from the grasp of their instructors and learned to control buoyancy for themselves.
The progress and confidence levels were impressive and they all finished with smiles on their faces, keen to do the next step towards an ocean dive; the PADI Junior Open Water course, which we hope to introduce to them in Term 3.
