English as an Additional Language or EAL aims to provide effective teaching that enables children to use English confidently and competently inside and outside the classroom. In this blog, Ms Shaheena updates us on the latest activites from the Year 3 EAL lessons.

Year 3 EAL students have been engaging with a variety of adventure stories this term. They have identified a range of adjectives and are now able to use them in sentences to describe characters and settings more effectively. We have also been learning how to write dialogue with accurate punctuation. There is a lot to remember when writing direct speech, but the students embraced the challenge and wrote lots of expressive examples. The students are now trying to vary the length of their sentences by using simple, compound and complex sentences. Keep up the fantastic work Year 3!
