During the week 14th to the 18th January 2019, Year 5 were involved in a new initiative from our Secondary Campus. This was called ‘Week Without Walls’, where their students had a week of different, challenging and creative experiences, some of which saw them coming over to Year 5 and being helpers within the classes. Another key part of the week had the Year 9 students forming theatre experiences for our students, using sounds and movement to represent some images of water.
Myra – ‘It was different and fun. We could express noises with our body!’
Alexia – ‘We could use props to make a river. I also liked how we could team up with different classes.’
This week also served as another part of our transition program, where we look for opportunities for our students to become familiar with the Secondary Campus and the kind of experiences and expectations they may encounter once they move up to the secondary school. Have a look at the photos to get a flavour of what the classes got up to!
