Sharing Warmth and Kindness: BIS Tết Gift Box Collection 2025 - TET Gift Collection
At BIS HCMC, Tết is more than a celebration, it’s a time to come together as a community and share warmth, hope, and kindness with those who need it most.

Every year, our Tết Gift Box Collection unites students, parents, and staff in a tradition of giving, supporting local organisations that make a profound difference in the lives of vulnerable children, families, and elderly residents across Ho Chi Minh City.

As Tết approaches, our BIS community is already preparing once again to celebrate the season through generosity and togetherness. The coming Year of the Horse symbolises strength, kindness and a giving heart, values reflected in our annual Tết Gift Collection.

By donating simple yet essential items, stationery, hygiene products, and basic food supplies, you help brighten the holiday season for hundreds of individuals served by our community partners. Together, we can make Tết a time of joy, dignity, and opportunity for everyone.

Our Community Partners

We are honoured to support seven incredible organisations whose dedication inspires us every day:

Binh Trieu Development Centre (Friends for Street Children – FFSC)

The Binh Trieu Development Centre (Friends for Street Children) provides essential education and support for more than 300 disadvantaged children from kindergarten through to Year 5, many of whom would otherwise be excluded from the local school system.

BIS has developed a strong partnership with the centre over many years, collaborating with teachers and students across a wide range of initiatives. Children from Binh Trieu regularly join our Community CCAs, and these shared experiences open new opportunities for the centre’s students while offering BIS students meaningful ways to serve, learn, and strengthen their connection to the wider community.

Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF)

The Christina Noble Children’s Foundation is an international organisation dedicated to supporting children in need through both emergency assistance and long-term care. CNCF provides life-changing services including medical treatment, nutritional rehabilitation, education, vocational training, and pathways to meaningful employment. The foundation also plays a vital role in protecting children at risk of sexual or economic exploitation, ensuring they receive safety, dignity, and the chance to build brighter futures.

BIS has developed a strong and meaningful partnership with CNCF over many years, collaborating through a wide range of service and learning opportunities. Our students have supported CNCF’s education and outreach work, participated in exchanges, and joined CCAs that connect directly with the children and young people receiving support from the foundation. These shared experiences open new opportunities for CNCF children while helping BIS students develop empathy, resilience, and a deeper understanding of community action.

Ky Quang Pagoda Orphanage

Tucked away in the backstreets of Go Vap District, Ky Quang Pagoda II is a vital community hub providing care, education, and stability for some of the city’s most vulnerable children. More than 100 disadvantaged children attend classes taught by dedicated retired volunteer teachers, while the centre’s orphanage offers safe shelter and support for both able-bodied children and those with disabilities who have faced challenging family circumstances.

Over the years, we’ve supported Ky Quang to expand, update and brighten its facilities to ensure the children have secure, nurturing spaces to live, learn, and grow. Many who were raised here remain connected into adulthood, supported as they transition into work and independent living. Care is provided by a compassionate team of parents and community volunteers who work together to create a warm, family-like environment where every child is valued and encouraged.

Mai Tam House of Hope

The Mai Tam House of Hope is both a safe home and a vital support centre for HIV/AIDS-positive widows, mothers, and children. The centre provides essential shelter, access to medical care, education, and daily assistance for its residents, as well as for many individuals from the wider community who come seeking help and guidance.

Around 80 children, from six months to 18 years old, live at Mai Tam alongside mothers who are infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Many of the children are orphaned, and all receive the care, stability, and encouragement they need to grow. Since its beginnings in 2005, when its founders set out to support just 100 vulnerable women and children, Mai Tam has expanded into a lifeline for more than 500 individuals each year.

The stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS in Vietnam can make it incredibly difficult for affected families to find acceptance, stability, and opportunity. Mai Tam’s mission extends far beyond meeting basic needs: it aims to nurture resilience, provide pathways to education, and support families as they rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Mai Tam, which includes regular exchange activities across both Primary campuses and Secondary. A highlight of this relationship is the annual Easter Party coordinated by our Year 12 CAS students, an event filled with joy, connection, and community spirit.

Thao Dien Disabled School

Thao Dien Disabled School, established in 2003 in District 2, provides education and life skills to over 120 children aged 4 to 16 with mental disabilities. The school offers classes from kindergarten through Year 2, focusing not only on basic literacy and numeracy but also on essential life skills such as communication, self-care, and social awareness.

BIS has built a long-standing partnership with Thao Dien School through weekly visits, where our students engage the children in interactive play, art, and games. In addition, Year 12 students lead English lessons using songs and vocabulary activities, offering the children further opportunities to develop language skills. This collaboration is designed to be mutually enriching, providing Thao Dien students with stimulating experiences while inspiring BIS students to grow as changemakers, embracing a mindset of justice and compassion.

Thien Phuoc Foster Home

As BIS’s longest-standing community partner, Thien Phuoc Foster Home has been at the heart of our service journey for many years. Established in 2001, Thien Phuoc provides a safe, loving home for more than 60 children living with disabilities such as Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome. Some children are orphaned, while others come from families unable to meet their medical or educational needs, but all receive dedicated care, rehabilitation, and opportunities to learn and thrive.

Our relationship with Thien Phuoc is woven throughout the school: from Year 1 playdates at EYI to the “Thien Phuoc Helping Hands” CCA for Junior and Secondary students. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to compassion, inclusion, and community.

Vinh Son Home for the Elderly

Vinh Son Home for the Elderly provides care and support for over 100 women aged 75 and above, offering a safe and nurturing environment where residents can live with dignity and companionship.

BIS Year 12 CAS students engage with the home through a variety of meaningful activities, including the annual Christmas Party, where students and staff share music, performances, and festive cheer with the residents. These interactions foster connection, joy, and mutual understanding between the BIS community and the elderly residents, creating memorable experiences for all involved.
