Sean O'Neill (58 posts) Head Teacher, Secondary Campus View Profile

Dear Parents,

South African friends remain resolute in their determination to keep our conversation topics around the recent Rugby World Cup victory, and who can blame them. Communities gain in spirit and comradery through such successes - the same is true at school of course. We begin this newsletter with a celebration of our FOBISIA team recently returned with huge success and fond memories of this years U15 Games. Equally notable are the successes of our swimmers in Hanoi last week who once again gave a great account of themselves in an incredibly competitive environment. If that’s not enough sport then scroll down to enjoy once more the recent SISAC championship performance of our Volleyball team. An exciting time for BIS sports that adds so much to the positive atmosphere around the campus. My thanks to the staff and parents that contribute so much of their energy and time to supporting these events and adding so much to our students experience.

Overview of the week’s activities

BIS HCMC Welcomes Juilliard Curriculum Dance Specialist

Juilliard Dance Curriculum Salla - BIS HCMC

We recently announced the launch of the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Dance Programme here. This week we welcomed Juilliard Curriculum Dance Specialist, Salla Saarikangas  who is guiding us in creating a bespoke Dance curriculum for our students.

Parents who joined us for Salla’s workshop after school thoroughly enjoyed the experience too once again reminding us that dance is an excellent means to share connections across cultures.

We Will Remember Them

On Monday 11th November, we held our annual remembrance assembly. We remembered all the people affected by war and conflict and shared our hope for a peaceful future. This sentiment was echoed beautifully by our choir with a performance of 'Et in terra pax hominibus' which translates as ‘And on Earth Peace to All People’

Poppy Appeal 2019

A big thank you to everyone who supported with this year’s Poppy Appeal. Across all three campuses we raised around 9 million vnd

This money will go to The Royal British Legion which is a charity that provides financial, social and emotional support to veterans and members of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants.
