Sports Pitch at the Early Years and Infant Campus

When we first moved into the Early Years and Infant campus a year ago, Mr Ian said “it was now time to make our new house a home”.

EY&IC New Sports Pitch - 1

This started by asking the school community what they would like to see in our outdoor spaces. The priority was shading, followed by some climbing equipment. However, the children in Year 2 kept saying "somewhere to play football".

We have worked with a European company to source a quality product, including specialist flooring and shading. During International Week the children were able to use it for the first time. We want our spaces to be multipurpose and to be used in a variety of different ways. Our pitch is an example of this. During International Week Year 2 were studying Songkran, it celebrates the traditional New Year in the Thai calendar. Our new pitch was ideal to host each class’ water fight. Great fun was had by all.

Our children have said…..

Timothy (Yr1) “I think it is so fun to play in”.

Rufus (Yr 1) “I think it is so amazing”.

Bao (Yr 2) “The football pitch is a great place to play”.

Emma (Yr2) “The football pitch is really good to play football”.

Sam “The football pitch is amazing to play on”.

Hoang Ngan “The football pitch is really fun to have a water fighting on”.

Jolisse (Yr2) “It is big”.

Nathan (Yr2) “It is really nice because you can play a lot and it is fun”.

Alex (Yr2 ) “The football pitch is fun because we can play basketball and football. So it is fun.’

Ryan (Yr2) “In the football pitch is it huge and 20 people can fit in”.

We have still not finished developing our spaces, we are just putting together another international order. So watch this space!
