SPLAT – Stay, Play and Learn All Together in F3

It was great to have parents join us in class this week with children leading their parents around their learning environment and showing just how independent they can be.

F3 children were excited about the prospect of mums and dads joining us in the class and started by making a list in advance, of the things they would like to do and show their parents. Staying true to the list we made rainbow slime and playdough and had a selection of beads available to make necklaces. Teachers were happy to model our morning routines as well to show how we support our curriculum goals through play and the set-up of the classroom environment. Parents saw mark making, writing and maths opportunities all being independently accessed by their children, as well as creative opportunities and a whole lot of FUN!! A big thanks to all who could join us and for joining in with the play. Here are some of the things parents said about the morning,

  • “I wish I could stay all day”.
  • “Now I can see why she loves school so much”
  • “I’m so happy he has a good time”
  • “I’m so happy to see who his friends are”

We showed how children are developing confidence and independence in their self-care by accessing our free flow snack bar and the Early Learning Centre (ELC) for more collaborative opportunities with children from other classes.
