It is a wonderful spectacle as the children come into school wearing their ao dais.  The playground looks so vibrant and colourful – the Vietnamese Tet festival is another highlight of the school year coming straight after all the fabulous International Week celebrations last week.

It’s been a mesmerising time for the children as they have enjoyed all the singing and dancing in the assemblies, and during the Tet fair on Monday, with the children engaging in a whole range of activities that celebrate everything that makes this festival such a marvellous time in Vietnam.

Dates for Your Diary...

22/01/20 – Tet Holiday begins

05/02/20 – School reopens

10/02/20 – Clubs begin

The payment deadline for Term 2 clubs was last Wednesday 15th January.  Children will by now have been removed from the club if payment was not received by this date.  These places will be offered to the children next on the waiting list via email.  If you receive such an email, please do reply and pay the club fee as soon as possible to confirm that your child accepts the space.  We look forward to Term 2 clubs beginning on Monday 10th February.

Health and Safety

Please take note of the school’s policy regarding photographs.  Photographs shared privately through our online journal, Seesaw, must be kept for personal viewing only; they must not be shared publically on social media.  Any photos taken in school on personal devices must be of your own children only and must not have other parents’ children in the photograph.  All photos taken of your children at school must not be shared publicly on social media or between non-family members such as, other parents in the school.  By following these guidelines, we ensure our BIS safeguarding policy is adhered to and that our children are kept safe.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Stay Vigilant

As in all major cities petty crime does occur, as a reminder to all of us please always take care of your personal belongings, especially when walking between campuses and across roads.

Thank you,
Ms Mary

And Finally…

I would particularly like to thank our two assistant head teaching assistants, Ms Phuc Nguyen Thi Hong and Ms Ngan Dong, who led the team that made the Tet assembly this week such a special event.  Our team of teaching assistants led by our Head TAs, Ms Thanh and Ms Chi, have been described as the best teaching assistants in the world and I have to say the hard work and dedication they have shown, and the super time we’ve had over the last two days, certainly demonstrated that to be true.

To all our staff, parents and children, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everybody a truly wonderful holiday and hope the new year is a peaceful, prosperous and healthy one for every member of the BIS community.
