Year 4 put on their fashionable thinking caps, got creative and rose to the challenge during a whirlwind forty five minutes to put together an incredible fashion extravaganza.
The children were asked to bring in a variety of old, used and no-longer wanted clothes, which they could cut, stick, accessorise and upcycle in order to create some original designs for our Year 4 catwalk.
Working in small groups, the children elected a group model and set about making them look fabulous using a variety of techniques. Some decided to add feathers to tshirts, whilst others opted for halving and then combining two shirts to create a new design. We even saw a unicorn inspired design amongst the models!
After a chaotic but productive forty five minutes, the models headed down to the canteen and prepared for their moment in the spotlight. Once the audience was seated, the music began and our models strutted their stuff. The judges were left with difficult decisions to be made as classes were awarded certificates for their creativity, style and inventiveness. A special individual award was granted to Ethan in 4H who wowed the judges with his style, confidence and personality.
It was a great event which really helped to kick off our new IPC topic of ‘Fashion.’ Watch this space for more as we delve deeper into the world of fashion as the term progresses!
