The BIS Community Service team were thrilled to be able to join the children of Thao Dien Disabled School this week to celebrate Tet Trung Thu, also known as the “Children’s Festival”.

The excitement was palpable as more than eighty children streamed into the school courtyard, a stool grasped in one hand and the sheer joy of the moment written on each of their faces!   This event was a shining example of the agility that our BIS community has to take last minute changes in their stride, adjusting the method but not the outcome.

We had planned to again invite our community children to join the Junior students for the annual Dragon Dance, however due to health and safety limitations, we were unable to do so.  Thanks to the Primary PTG as well as a pop-up Clothes Swap arranged by the Primary Community Service Leaders, Suzannah Breen and Shane Gallagher, we were able to gift the school with their very own Dragon Dancers!  Special thanks to all who made this possible including Ms Phuong Tran (CS Coordinator) who ensured all was in place within a very short space of time.
