After the excitement of last week’s Sports Days, we took things at a slightly different pace and moved indoors for the Year 5 Speech Competition Final and Year 6 Debate Final. The culmination of a unit of work for all students, saw students in both year groups, impressing their peers, wowing the judges and making their teachers and parents very proud, as they delivered wonderful speeches and impressive arguments over 2 afternoons.
Also, this week, we welcomed some prospective families to the primary campuses to share our wonderful school. It allowed me to reflect on the last few years, as we shared the successes of our school, or brilliant students and the developments that have taken place over the last number of years.
It was exciting to be able to share that we have been nominated for no less than 3 awards in the International School Awards;
Teaching and Learning Initiative: Our SPLAT@Home Boxes in the EY&IC.
Digital Technology in Learning: Our school-wide Virtual School Provision
Wellbeing Initiative: Our Wellbeing Initiative initiated in Secondary
It reflects the amazing teaching and learning community that we have here at school. We will hear the results in January, till then we wait!
We have some very exciting events coming up in the coming weeks as we approach the end of Term One. Not least is our Primary Music Concert – A Christmas Carol. It will be held on Tuesday December 8th2020. This year, to allow for social distancing and limiting numbers, we will have 2 concerts, both will be held in the auditorium, one at 4pm and one at 6pm. An important letter has gone to all students involved in the concert today including a link to reserving the tickets. Please read this letter carefully.

Tet Collection 2021
Although we have yet to celebrate Christmas, preparations are already underway for the Tet Collection. Tet, the most important event in the Vietnamese Calendar, is an opportunity for us, as a school, to support those less fortunate in our community. Due to the success of last year’s Tet Boxes, we will continue with the same tradition this year. Information was shared with all children today at assembly and more information about you can get involved can be found by accessing this post.
Library - Supporting your children with reading and books at home
Ms Susan from the library has some fantastic tips to guide you the parents in supporting reading at home and fostering a love of books. Please click on this article to read more about how you can help your children learn.
Advent Story Calendars
An exciting addition to our Christmas this year is the Advent Story Calendars. A brilliant idea from Ms Helena means this year, starting on December 1st, a Christmas story will be available to listen to each day. The link will be pinned to the top of each class Seesaw page so you will be able to find it easily each day and enjoy a Christmas story as a family!
Match report time! Find out how our young players have been getting on in this post from the PE department from their recent matches against ISSP. This concludes the friendly matches for this season.

Just a reminder that all children should wear a mask to and from school, and when not in the classroom (moving between classrooms, playtime, etc.). Please make sure the mask is named and that your child has a spare in their bag.
Children should be bringing a water bottle to school every day as part of their usual routine, but it is all the more important during the current coronavirus pandemic. Please make sure that your child brings their water bottle, with their name clearly on it, every day.
