International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Tuesday 11th February marked the International Day of Women and Girls in Science; a day recognised by the United Nations to celebrate the critical role women play in Science and Technology and to encourage more girls to choose careers in these fields.
Research suggests that although abilities between girls and boys in Maths and Science are not significantly different, less than 35% of students graduating from university in STEM subjects are women.
At the British International School Ho Chi Minh City we are actively encouraging all our children, regardless of gender, to engage with STEAM subjects. Find out more about why we are anticipating seeing many more of our BIS women and girls in science.

Wellbeing Activity - My Wellbeing Week in Photos
Students across all year groups have clearly been having similar experiences this week as they demonstrated through their engagement in the “My Wellbeing Week in Photos” challenge. Everyone was tasked with taking a photograph a day for a full week - every picture had to show an element of PERMAH in action. It has been wonderful to see students spending time with family, engaged in their favourite hobbies, reading books, enjoying great food and having fun with friends. I hope you have had a chance to engage with your son or daughter in this challenge….and maybe even appear in some of their photographs!!
