Kirstine Porter_873

Year 5 Teacher / English Subject Leader

After spending time working with children in a range of settings and across different, I've found it really inspiring to see how much children love to share their knowledge. It makes me so happy to see how enthusing children, sharing experiences and learning in interactive and exciting ways, can empower and drive children to succeed.

BA (Hons) Primary Education, York St John University, UK

BTEC National Diploma in Early Years Child Care

Kirstine joined BIS in August 2014, after working for a year at British College La Cañada in Valencia, Spain, as a teacher in Year 3. Prior to this she spent 3 years working across Years 3 and 4 at Norton Primary School in North Yorkshire, England. During this time Kirstine held positions of responsibility including P.E and Modern Foreign Languages co-ordinator. In addition to this, she has spent time working in Switzerland and has travelled to many countries across Europe and Africa.

Some of Kirstine’s interests include learning languages and travelling, taking part in various sports including dance and gymnastics; as well as visiting the theatre and spending time socialising with friends and family. Kirstine also loves to try new and adventurous activities such as paragliding, high ropes and aqua zorbing. One of her aims in the near future is to learn to dive!
