Maria Carter - Music Teacher | BIS HCMC

Music Teacher

Bachelor of Arts – English & Music, University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand

Diploma in Teaching – Secondary Education, Christchurch College of Education, Christchurch, New Zealand

Maria joined BIS after teaching in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for 12 years. She enjoys teaching primary and secondary aged students in a culturally diverse, international environment. Originally from New Zealand, Maria plays piano, drums, ukulele, bass guitar and enjoys learning new instruments and playing in ensembles, bands and accompanying soloists. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Canterbury, New Zealand and a Master of Music degree from Boston University, U.S.A. She has spoken at ISME international music education conferences and enjoys collaborating with other artists. Outside of school, Maria enjoys going to the gym, running road races, fundraising for charities, traveling and sampling new cuisine.
