Staff Profile: Belinda Smith

Bee Smith_Science Teacher

Science Teacher / Biology

I had planned to come to Vietnam for 2 years to experience international teaching, but I very quickly fell in love with this wonderful country and it became my home.  I have now been here for 11 years! Both my children were born here and now enjoy attending BIS in APP while I still enjoy sharing my passion for Biology with the students in APS.

PGCE Education in Secondary Science (Biology), University of Liverpool, UK

Belinda is a Biology teacher educated at The University of Manchester (BSc) and The University of Liverpool (PGCSE).  She worked for 5 years in the UK before joining BIS in 2005 working as science teacher, Head of Key Stage 4 and Head of Year 11.   In 2010, Belinda started a career break to have a family before returning to BIS in 2014.  Outside of school, Belinda is involved in Dragonfly, a professional theatre company in Saigon, as both actor and producer.  Belinda is married and has a daughter and a son.
