As we make preparations for Christmas for our families it is a good time to think about those children who are less fortunate.
For the last few years the PTA of The British School have organised a Christmas Giving Tree that gives students an opportunity to make a child’s wish come true at Christmas. Last year we helped a primary school in Zachodniopomorskie through our cooperation with FSCR (Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility).
This year we would like to support another school in Zachodniopomorskie in the North West of Poland. The people of this region were employed on cooperative farms under the Communist system of government, and they have fallen on challenging times since the farms and their jobs went away beginning in 1989. This region of small villages has unemployment rates as high as 90%, and the future looks very bleak. We will be again partnering with FSCR Promiseland programme.
Again the students will have the opportunity to spread happiness at Christmas time by giving a special gift to a child in need. It can be done by either making a cash donation or buying a gift. After the half term break will send you details of how you can do this.
As in previous years there will be a Christmas tree in the reception area of school. When we receive presents and/or donations the student’s first name and class will be displayed on tree as a Christmas decoration.
We hope you and your family will enjoy making some wishes come true for these children.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
