This week we are pleased to meet Louis Fearn who is the Director of Sport, Head of Year 10 and LEAP Coordinator

Louis Faern

Where are you from originally? I was born and grew up in Bournemouth on the south coast of England, I have also lived in Eastbourne and Folkestone, all of which are also on the south coast.

Have you lived in any other countries? I am lucky enough to have spent 2 years living and teaching in Cairo, Egypt.

Where do you study your education? I studied my degree at the University of Brighton, Chelsea School based at the Eastbourne campus

How long have you been at TBS? I’ve been at TBS since the start of this academic year.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at our school? I love the fact that no 2 days are ever the same. The students show a real desire to learn and a thirst for knowledge which makes teaching a really exciting task!

What are you most looking forward to in the 2018/2019 academic year? Lots of sporting success and seeing the progress students make as sportsmen and sportswomen. Alongside this, I’m excited to see how they develop as individuals and demonstrate our sporting values in lessons and fixtures.

Whose your favourite historian/scientist/literary figure and why? I’m a big fan of Carol Dweck and her work and approach towards growth mindset. Lots of this has huge impact on the sporting world and approaches to setbacks and training.

What is your favourite thing about living in Warsaw, Poland? I love the bread!! Warsaw is a great place to be and really child friendly. I’m looking forward to exploring more over the coming weeks with my family.

What do you miss most from home? Watching AFC Bournemouth play, although they seem to be doing ok without me there!!
