In the modern age, we need to ensure that our sensitive data is not shared in the public domain through keeping it safe and not sharing it unnecessarily.
To demonstrate the speed at which data can be spread, I posted my credit card details (see picture above) on one of my social media accounts, asking people to share it. Within 12 hours, my credit card details had been shared by 32 of my 'friends', in 4 different continents. The average social media user has 338 friends, which means that so far, my credit card number has potentially been seen by 10816 people. It only takes 1 to commit fraud.
