Getting to know you …Edina Janosi
Where would you call home?
Definitely Budapest. I am in love with that beautiful city but most importantly my family is there. Luckily it is very easy to visit here from Warsaw, so if anybody is considering spending a long weekend in an amazing city, it takes just an hour flight to get there. But I’ve never thought how much I would like to live in Warsaw as well, after more than 4 years here it really is our second home.
What languages can you speak?
Hungarian, English and a bit German. It is a shame but Polish is just simply too complicated for me.
What brings you to Warsaw and what was your journey to get here?
It was my husband’s job. We were supposed to be here for 2 years, but we are still here and very happy about it.
Who have you got at school here?
I have 2 children. My daughter Nóra is in Year 3 Bees and my son Máté in Reception Diplodocus, so I am enjoying the everyday challenge of the two sites...
Any other children?
No.
Any pets?
No, although that is the hottest topic in every family discussion. The kids really want to have a dog or a horse.
How did you get involved in the PTA?
Honestly, I just felt the “pressure” to volunteer as a class friend as nobody else did and I am so happy about it.
What do you do with the PTA?
I am class friend in both of my kids’ classes, helping out at bake sales, book sales, sport events and wherever needed.
Best thing about volunteering with the PTA?
There are plenty. I met here with wonderful people, you feel like you contribute to some important issues and my kids are very happy to see me around.
What would you say to somebody thinking about volunteering for the PTA?
If you have some free time just try it, everybody is absolutely welcomed. It is a great opportunity to get involved a bit more with school related topics and make new friendships.
What’s your favourite thing to do with your family in Warsaw?
When the weather is nice, we really enjoy the parks and bike routes. In the winter we spend a lot of time at Górka Szczęśliwicka on the ski slope which I find really unique in the middle of this stunning city.
Can you tell us a joke?
