Fire Station Fun!

Pre-Nursery and Nursery classes enjoyed a trip to the local fire station this week.

The children were eager to have turns at holding the fire hose, trying on a fireman’s helmet and testing out the comfy seats inside the fire engine.

We were surprised to find out how quickly the firemen are able to gear up once the alarm sounds - almost as fast as we are when getting dressed for outdoor play!

The final part of our tour ended in the control room where were shown all of the very important shiny green and red buttons that ring the alarm and turn on the station lights. We had a great day and have gathered a lot of inspiration for our activities in role play and outdoor provision sessions.
