Pleased to Meet You... Alfons Vinent

This week we are pleased to meet Alfons Vinent, our Deputy Head Teacher Academic

Al Vinent

Where are you from originally?

I am originally from Barcelona.

Have you lived in any other countries?

Yes I have. In the Year 2000 I moved to the UK where I spent 8 years living in London and in Lancashire. In 2008 I moved to Qatar where I spent 6 years in 2014 I move to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where I spent another 6 years before moving to Warsaw in August 2020.

What did you study and where?

I studied a BSC Business Administration and Economics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the University of Cumbria UK and a National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) at the Institute of Education, University College London.

How long have you been at TBS?

I have been at TBS since the end of August.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at our school?

I really enjoy the commitment of our teachers and the positive attitude of our students.

What are you most looking forward to in the 2020/2021 academic year?

I am looking forward to an education without COVID-19 restrictions.

Who is your favourite historian/scientist/literary figure and why?

My favourite historical figure is Mahatma Gandhi. I admire his perseverance to make the world a better place and his braveness to lead non-violent and peaceful protests to promote change.

What is your favourite thing about living in Warsaw?

I love being able to cycle to work and I love the many parks that I can take my children to play in.

What do you miss most from home?

I have been away from home for so long that I am not sure where home is anymore. But I do miss things from each of the countries where I have lived, although there is hardly anything that I cannot get in Warsaw, which is great.
