Pleased to meet You...Alexandra Hands

This week we are pleased to meet Alexandra Hands, our Deputy Head Pastoral

Where are you from originally?

Winchester, UK

Have you lived in any other countries?

Yes, Nepal

What did you study and where?

BSc Biochemistry at University of Bristol

How long have you been at TBS?

About a month

What do you enjoy most about teaching at our school?

The amazingly supportive staff, in particular the Heads of Year are fantastic at what they do and have been so great at helping me settle in.

What are you most looking forward to in the 2020/2021 academic year?

I'm looking forward to making a difference and working with an amazing team here to improve pastoral care.

Who is your favourite historian/scientist/literary figure and why?

As a woman in science Marie Curie has always been beacon to me (ever since doing a homework project on her when I was in Year 5!) so perhaps that's why I've been drawn to Poland.

What is your favourite thing about living in Warsaw?

I have two small children so the things we love most as a family are all the playgrounds, we didn't have any really in Nepal and there are so many good ones here.

What do you miss most from home?

Nothing really, Poland seems to have everything we need
