Learning Assistant

Amy is a learning support assistant from the UK with three years experience of working in primary schools. She has a passion for working with children of all ages and has worked in a diverse range of school in the UK.

I was born and raised in Bristol UK and have lived in Swansea, Wales where I attended secondary school. I'm very proud to be half English and half Welsh! I am here with my husband for his work with the MoD and our two beautiful daughters who attend an elementary school in Alexandria.

I came into the role of a learning assistant later on in life after always wanting to work with children in a school environment. After having my daughters I decided to go back to college and re-train and I'm so glad I did.

Working with children brings me a lot of happiness and fulfillment, there is never a dull moment when working with children and I thoroughly enjoy the challenges that come with the job. In the future I would like to go back to university and train as primary school teacher as it has been a life long dream of mine. I am really excited to be here at the British International School of Washington working with all the wonderful children.
