Assistant Head of Secondary; Physical Education Teacher

I'm originally from the South of England and this is where I studied and received my BA QTS, in Physical Education from the University of Southampton. I enjoy keeping fit and participating in sport and one of my passions in my younger days was playing soccer where I was fortunate to play semi pro for Havant and Waterlooville FC, in the Conference league.

My first job was in a high school in the Midlands where I stayed for five years. Here, I ran two teams; boys varsity basketball and football who become regional champions. I also continued my love of playing soccer as a striker for Uttoxeter Town.  I then moved back down South to progress my career by taking up a Head of Department position at a large secondary school.  This was a great challenge and I have used the experience to improve and develop my teaching and leadership skills.

After meeting my now wife, we then moved back to the Midlands where I took up another Head of Department position but this time in a middle school.  It was here that I rebuilt an ailing department which helped the school to become renowned throughout the area and brought students in from outside areas to participate in our rigorous curriculum and extensive extra-curricular activities.

In 2010 my wife and I decided we needed another challenge and we were both fortunate to take up positions at BISW.  I enjoy the challenge that BISW provides me and it still remains my vision in the next few years for people outside of the school to recognize us for our sporting achievements and dedication to a broad and diverse PE curriculum. I would like to establish an extra-curricular program which provides students the opportunity to learn new sports, have fun and experience healthy competition.

My wife and I love living near the Nation’s capital and the life we can provide for our children here and cannot wait for them to start at BISW to interact with the diverse international cultures, curriculum and of course, the sporting opportunities they can experience here.
