2018/19 IGCSE Results Regents International School Pattaya students celebrate their fantastic IGCSE results

Our students are celebrating after receiving their long-awaited IGCSE results.  Their incredible achievements have created an amazing atmosphere all across our school as we join them in celebrating their success.

Sarah Osborne-James, School Principal at Regents, said: “I am so proud of our students as we look at the incredible successes achieved in our IGCSE results. Our students have once again achieved standout scores. Alongside our students’ hard work and commitment, our teachers and staff have played a vital role in the results and deserve our heartfelt thanks and recognition.”

Regents students results have again exceeded the UK average for IGCSE (International GCSE)  with 83% students achieving A*- C grades.

This year we are seeing some of the highest individual results ever.  With one student being awarded 2 A* and 7 IGCSE’s at Level 9 (equivalent to A*) and another student being awarded 1 A* and 6 IGCSE’s at Level 9 and 2 IGCSE’s at Level 8 (level 8-9 equivalent to A*). These are fantastic achievements and results to truly be proud of.  It has been an emotional time for the students; finally finding out their results, reflecting on the year and feeling a big sense of accomplishment.

The continued success in IGCSE results is a testament to Regents high academic standards, excellent teaching and the hard work and dedication of students. Students continue to excel and outperform UK national averages.

  • The percentage of our students achieving five A* to C grades, including English and Maths at GCSE and IGCSE, was 83%
  • The percentage of our students achieving A*/A (7-9 grades) was 34% compared to UK average of 21%

These fantastic results are a combination of all the hard work of our students, our Be Ambitious approach and the support of our excellent teachers. On behalf of our school community, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers for always inspiring and challenging our students to achieve more than what they may have thought possible.

The IGCSE is one of the most academically challenging qualifications currently on offer to 14-16 year old students worldwide. The qualifications cover a broad range of subjects including languages, humanities, social sciences, mathematics, computer science and are well respected by international universities.  The IGCSE provides students with an excellent foundation to be able to embark on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) with confidence.

The IBDP is the gold standard in international pre-university qualifications. In total, IB programmes have been offered to more than 1.1 million students in 146 countries. The two-year IBDP is academically challenging and highly-respected by universities around the world. With its strong emphasis on experience-based learning it is also an excellent fit with Regents’ own Global Citizenship philosophy.

A continuation of the English National Curriculum, the full two-year program features a combination of coursework and exam work. Students will generally take eight and upon passing are awarded qualifications in a full range of core subjects including languages, sciences, humanities, social sciences, arts and design and mathematics. Top universities around the world look to these qualifications as a benchmark of academic performance when considering applications.
