Meet the Teacher | Ms Faye

Meet the Teacher | Ms Faye - Ms Faye

Meet the Teacher (#TEACHERFEATURE) is a St Andrews Bangkok community series that will give you a chance to get to know our outstanding educators – their thoughts, ideas and experiences.

Ms Faye, our Head of Business and Enterprise, IBCP Coordinator and BTEC Quality Nominee, has been teaching at St Andrews since 2012 and graduated with Honours in Business Management from the University of  Newcastle.

Your education and other work experience(s)

Business Management degree, working in University quality assurance, teaching: TEFL, Business, ICT, Economics, Travel and Tourism.

What areas of research/topics continue to capture your attention in your field and why?

Our department continues to focus on student-led learning with an emphasis on supporting students to not only develop their knowledge of Business, but also an awareness of how they learn, providing an opportunity for students to practice teamwork, communication skills and digital literacy in readiness for success as future entrepreneurs and leaders. Understanding this pedagogical approach ensures that I am always learning, just as much as the students.

What hobbies do you have and what do you love about them? And what are your other interests?

Travelling with my family, exploring new countries (especially those with nice beaches!)

What do you feel most passionately about and why?

I love the culture of enterprise and service learning that we have in St Andrews and the opportunities that this has presented for cross curricular projects in Business and Enterprise, where students get to experience vocational and entrepreneurial skills first hand.

I have been working with local community groups such as Central Thailand Mission, Second Chance Bangkok, The Giving Tree, Bangkok Refugee Centre, the Equity Partnership and many more, always hoping the students can develop their understanding of the need for social enterprise and become business leaders and social change makers in the future.
