Bringing the Oxbridge Experience to Warsaw

Let me begin by extending warm greetings from Oxford, the city of dreaming spires. As many of you may know, The British School Warsaw is partnering for the first time with Bucksmore Education, a leading short course provider in the United Kingdom with over 40 years of experience, to develop the Academy of Global Scholars. In 2019, Bucksmore Education was awarded PIEoneers ‘Language Educator of the Year’ award and EL Gazette's ‘Centre of Excellence’ award. This year, I am thrilled for this opportunity and partnership with TBS Warsaw and am eagerly looking forward to our successful first summer!

This two-week academic course is ideal for driven and talented students looking to gain an advantage in international education. Students will explore unique lessons and hands-on learning related to their chosen academic stream: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics), PPE (Philosophy, Politics & Economics), or Arts & Humanities.

In addition, students will learn key skills to excel in university applications and university style-learning. Lessons are taught by experienced and knowledgeable Tutors, many of whom are alumni of top UK and US universities. As an alumna of University of Cambridge (PhD, Education) and Yale University (MA) I can personally attest to the importance of pre-university preparation to succeed in university education.

Academy of Global Scholars will challenge students intellectually and foster strong skills of critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, leadership, and teamwork. Lessons are both engaging and unique, for example studying chemical reactions and compounds in 'The Chemistry of Baking' course or analyzing the influence of eye disease on famous artwork from Monet and Degas in the 'Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder' course. Students will engage in hands-on experimentation and applied learning, such as a Model United Nations-style debate on International Space Law. Keynote speakers from top universities will inspire students to be curious, innovative, and adventurous!
