Parent Survey Results 2020

Dear parents,

Thank you for taking part in the parent survey earlier this year. We had a fantastic response and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive as well as some very valuable suggestions from parents on what they would like to see for the future.

I’m particularly proud to say that for the second year running we have seen an improvement on almost every element covered by the survey. This is a very real demonstration that we are listening to your feedback and taking action to continue to offer the best learning experience for all of our families. It also demonstrates the hard work and commitment from everyone at Regents, together with the support and investment we have received as a Nord Anglia Education school.

Your views are very important to us in planning the future for our school. During these challenging times it is clear to see the Regents community is there to support each other through it all.

98% agree their first contact with our school was positive and welcoming.

Educational Opportunities

The school provides a stimulating learning environment, children participate in a wide range of after school activities and the school prepares my child for the next stage of their study all increased on last year.

95% agree their child is happy at school.

Teaching

We saw an improvement in all elements of teaching this year with more parents agreeing their child has a good relationship with their teacher, they are taught by quality teachers, they receive individualised attention and support and they are motivated by their teacher.

There was no major change compared to last year with most parents agreeing their child is developing independence, confidence and a global awareness at school.

Communication

We saw improvement on almost every aspect of communication including keeping parents informed of academic progress, their child’s successes outside of academic progress, helping parents to understand how to support their child’s learning and happy with the response from school when contacting us about questions or concerns. Feedback and helping parents to support learning at home was two of our action points from last year so it was very encouraging to see this improvement.

92% agree our classrooms provide a great learning environment.

Actions

Supporting your child's learning at home

We saw a great improvement in this from 66% to 73% this year but we would like to continue to focus on this. We will continue the frequent parent workshops on key subject areas for parents, running the “stay and play” sessions in Early Primary and the IPC entry and exit sessions for parents to help you get more involved with your children’s learning journey.

Co-Curricular Activities

We also saw an improvement in the ability to participate in a wide range of after school activities but we know the offer can be different for certain age groups and that parents would like to see more sports options available, especially for those not selected for one of the sports teams.
