We take the health, safety and well-being of our students very seriously. As a boarding school, we ensure that our high quality of care is available 24 hours a day.
Pastoral care
Regents is a school built on the principles of trust and respect and our last independent inspection report notes that the quality of relationships between staff and students is outstanding. Every student is assigned to a class teacher (Early Years and Primary) or Form Tutor (Secondary), whose responsibility it is to monitor their academic development, advise on opportunities beyond the classroom and encourage social and emotional wellbeing. They are the main point of contact between parents and the school, although the Heads of Years, Heads of Key Stages, subject teachers, boarding staff and the senior leadership team all have important roles to play in each student’s wellbeing.
Healthy eating
School meals are cooked on site in the school’s own kitchens. The menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner are designed with healthy eating in mind and the school runs a number of initiatives to encourage healthy eating, such a ‘Green Grub’ - the healthy snack bar which opens every break time in Primary School. The latest school menus can be found here.
Staying active
All our students are encouraged to develop an excellent understanding of how to lead healthy, active lifestyles and a desire to channel their time and energy into developing new skills, interests and friendships through sport and physical activity. They are encouraged to be competitive but at the same time have a keen sense of sportsmanship, whether that be on the sports pitch, in the swimming pool or on the courts.
The PE (Physical Education) Department comprises six full-time members of staff, who are not simply interested in sport but who are trained to teach sport – they are fully qualified PE teachers. In addition, we have a highly-active and professional Outdoor Education Department.
Safety and security
Rural Thailand is extremely safe but the school nevertheless has a strong commitment to the safety and security of its students. The school campus is walled and gated, with security guards on every entrance. As a boarding school, we maintain this level of security 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Where appropriate, sections of the school are closed to visitors by finger-print sensors. Campus safety and security is managed by the school Bursar.
