Festival Details
Students will take part in dynamic workshops in dance, musical theatre, choir, and orchestra led by Nord Anglia Performing Arts Leads and the Universal Stars Performance Program. Throughout the festival, they’ll develop creativity, confidence, and collaboration alongside peers from 25 schools across The Americas—immersing themselves in the energy and artistry of the performing arts.
Our Performing Arts Festival will focus on the following workshops:
Sound Design: Music and the Art of Foley (Choir or Orchestra)
Dive into the world of cinematic sound at Universal Orlando's Sound Design: Music and the Art of Foley workshop. This immersive experience invites students to step into the shoes of movie musicians—composing original scores, crafting Foley effects, and adding voiceovers to scenes from Despicable Me. Guided by the expertise of Robert W. Smith and aligned with National Core Arts Standards, participants will explore how sound brings animated stories to life. Students will capture the antics of the Minions and gain hands-on experience in music, film, and media production.
Dance is UNIVERSAL!
Students will refine their dance skills through the Audition Workshop, which provides an immersive experience across two genres and includes a mock audition to prepare for future professional opportunities. This workshop helps students improve technique, convey meaningful performances, and explore cultural and historical connections through dance. Whether aiming to elevate their practice or begin a dance career, students gain invaluable insights from seasoned professionals.
Special FX Tour
In the Special FX Tour, students will go behind the scenes at Universal Studios Florida to see how movie-making magic happens. This production-focused experience reveals the creative processes and technology that power rides and attractions. Students will discover how special effects blend artistry and engineering to create unforgettable entertainment—guided by experts sharing the secrets behind Universal’s most iconic productions.
Our Venues
Universal Orlando’s STARS Performance Program offers an inspiring stage for student performers. Set in the world-class Universal Orlando Resort, this program gives students unforgettable opportunities—from marching through the park to training with industry professionals. Participants build confidence, creativity, and collaboration in a high-energy, real-world entertainment environment.
Windermere Preparatory School, located on a scenic 48-acre campus on the shores of Lake Cypress in Windermere, Florida, offers a top-tier environment for aspiring performers. With a professional theatre, fully equipped dance studios, and dedicated music rooms, students can develop their talents in musical theatre, orchestra, choir, and dance. These state-of-the-art facilities foster creativity, collaboration, and expression in a dynamic and supportive space.
