Emma Thomas

Staff Profile: Emma Thomas BIS Hanoi

Mathematics Teacher

BSc. (Hons) Mathematics with Economics, The University of Exeter Exeter, United Kingdom

PGCE Mathematics, The University of Oxford Oxford, United Kingdom

Emma spent a year teaching English in South Korea in 2013/14 which sparked a love of both travel and teaching. It is mathematics where Emma’s passion lies, so she went on to complete her maths teacher training at the University of Oxford.

Emma then enjoyed teaching maths in central London before joining BIS Hanoi in 2018. Emma appreciates the problem-solving aspect of mathematics, and her favourite part of teaching is supporting students to reach those ‘aha’ moments where suddenly a new concept or solution becomes clear.

In her spare time Emma enjoys cooking, reading, yoga, exploring and learning about different cultures.
