In English this week, the children will be studying the work of Charlie Chaplin and discussing how his films told a story through mime. They will be introduced to new vocabulary related to the topic and will engage in role-play activities to create their own mime sketches. First they will create a storyboard to generate and record ideas.

This week, we will be solving one-step problems involving addition and subtraction, including missing numbers in number sentences. The children will spend time exploring how addition and subtraction are the inverse of each other. They will be encouraged to record their work using appropriate strategies.

We will recap fractions, shapes, multiplication and division during our teaching starters.

The Personal Goal we will be focusing on this week is 'adaptability'.

This week, we will be exploring the work of Charlie Chaplin, looking at how film has changed over time in terms of colour, sound and effects. The children will use their storyboards from English to begin to make their own movies in the style of Charlie Chaplin using iMovie.

The children will be treated to a special 'silent' lesson as a form of highlighting how communication has developed and progressed.
