In English this week, the children will read the story ‘The Smiley Shark.’ They will use the text as a stimulus for understanding how to add prefixes and suffixes to change the meaning of a word. This information and knowledge will then be used to help them write a set of instructions guiding a shark to hidden treasure.

The Mathematics skills we will be concentrating on this week are to, use specific language to describe position and movement. This will be applied to number, shapes, arrays and fractions.

The children will program Bee Bots to follow a set of instructions. They will write instructions using a key to help them understand the different directions and movements the Bee Bot can use.

The Personal Goal we will be focusing on this week is 'Resilience.'

This week the children will develop their artistic skills.

‘As Artists’ they will explore how to mix different powder paints to create different shades and textures. This knowledge will be used to help them paint their own ocean scene linked to the story 'The Smiley Shark.'
