Year 3 have been listening to one of the 12 core works from our Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme – The Rite of Spring. They have been comparing different instruments used and learning how to play some of the melodies on the keyboards.
Year 2 have also been using ideas from The Rite of Spring. They have been exploring use of accents in music, and creating compositions collaboratively.
In secondary, Year 7 have moved away from Bach this week and are using extracts from The Rite of Spring to experiment with use of ornamentation, whilst Year 9 are continuing to jazz around and improvise in their blues topic.
Our Year 1 students are developing their keyboard skills quickly and are now able to perform some nursery rhymes using standard notation.
Year 4 have got underway with the Cello and Year 5 are beginning to learn how to play the ukulele.
Everyone in the school is looking forward to the arrival of Andrea Lee from The Juilliard School in just 9 days time.
