Throughout the course of a school year, students will have the opportunity to take part in several quality educational field trips to support and enhance aspects of the curriculum.
For Primary children this could be a trip to the Aquarium, Science Museum, local water towns or even, for our youngest students, going to the supermarket or having afternoon tea in the local café. The children have a great time but also are challenged to apply their thinking and expand their knowledge of the world.
Secondary students use Shanghai as a learning resource: visits to sculpture parks, trips to draw buildings on the Bund, visiting local schools and speaking Chinese in authentic situations are examples of how learning comes to life. Year 9 students join in the 'Great Urban Race': a shared Geography and History event that has the travelling around central Shanghai chasing down clues and solving puzzles. Concerts, film festivals, galleries and museums are all out there, and all part of the extended learning programme.
