Laurie started learning the piano at the age of three and later went on to learn the violin and viola. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London and Manchester before completing a degree in Creative Music Technology at Kingston University in 2006. He enjoyed a successful career as a musician before completing a PGCE at the Institute of Education in 2014.
Laurie taught for one year at Uxbridge High School before joining the team at BISS. He is excited about developing extra curricular activities at the school and providing high quality opportunities and experiences for the next generation of budding musicians. He enjoys a wide range of musical activities, especially those which are technology based, such as producing music and mixing.
Aside from music, Laurie likes learning new languages and practises Russian regularly. He also very much enjoys learning Mandarin. Most of all, Laurie enjoys spending time with his young family.
