The Nanjing International Music Festival, 2016 In March 2016 a selection of our Secondary students embarked on a journey to the mystical lands of China to participate in the British Schools Foundation International Music Festival, 2016 at our sister school, The British School of Nanjing.

In March 2016 a selection of our Secondary students embarked on a journey to the mystical lands of China to participate in the British Schools Foundation International Music Festival, 2016 at our sister school, The British School of Nanjing.BCB students participated in a range of Creative Arts workshops, such as Chinese Drumming and the Dragon Dance, alongside 90 other students from across the world of the British Schools Foundation. The event is aimed giving the students the chance to experience performing in front of a large audience, giving them confidence to take in other aspects of their studies. It also fosters life long cross-cultural friendships between students at our schools around the world.During the trip, the BCB students had an authentic taste of Chinese tradition, as well as German, since we stopped off in Frankfurt en-route. The week culminated in an orchestral and choral festival for ambassadors of Nanjing city, and a gritty Battle of the Bands competition, which brought together and united numerous nationalities. The trip was a truly enriching experience for all who took part, and the students and teachers have lasting memories of their experiences. Next years location is still to be confirmed (but perhaps the students should start learning some Russian phrases..!).
