Events That Bring Us Together
Across the year, BCB bursts with colour, music and connection as our students take part in events that celebrate cultures from all over the world. From International Day to regional Nord Anglia Education events, each occasion offers a chance to learn, share and grow together.
Whether it’s living side by side for three days at the Global Games, performing at the Americas Performing Arts Festival, exploring innovation at the STEAM Festival or discovering snow and nature on the Switzerland Trip, our students gain friendships that cross borders and memories that last a lifetime.
“Junior Global Games is the best because we get to hang out with people from schools all over The Americas. It was great to find out about each other’s lives, and we realised that we have lots in common!”, says Rafa, Year 7 student.
Student Voice and Cultural Expression
At BCB, our students are leaders in shaping how culture is celebrated. We encourage them to share their stories, initiate projects and use their voices to express who they are.
“In our IPC unit, we researched the countries that we feel connected to, and then we created a piece of artwork linked to this. It felt special that we could show and explain our culture to others and make connections between our experiences.” shares Letícia, Year 5 student.
From creative writing and art projects to student-led initiatives, cultural expression is woven into daily school life, empowering students to embrace individuality and strengthen our community.
Families as Partners
Cultural identity begins at home, and our families play an essential role in keeping that connection alive at school. During International Day, families come together to share traditional games, songs and dishes from their home countries, creating heartwarming moments of discovery and joy.
Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), made up of families from across the globe, is also deeply involved in planning events that reflect our community’s diversity. Together, we make sure every celebration truly represents the many cultures that make BCB unique.
“I love that on International Day we can celebrate everyone’s countries, and we can try different types of games and foods from around the world. I get to share my own food with everyone!”, explains Isak, Year 3 student.
