Languages have always been an important part of the British independent school curriculum.

Progress for our students is personal, it is about where they begin and how they move forward.

School trips are a fantastic way of bringing learning to life and supporting students’ understanding as Year 5 and F3 students found out this week.

It has been a busy and very successful year in Mathematics for our BIS Hanoi students, and we are very proud of their commitment, enthusiasm and participation in these events.

Many of our students have been developing new computing skills from subject specialists in the primary school and our first cohort of computer scientists have comfortably sat their final IGCSE exams.

A team of 6, Year 7 students: Quynh Anh, Noah, Kanta, Bao Linh, Tuong Anh and Ky Lam entered the World Scholar’s Cup, the first round of which was held last weekend. The team were very successful and are now through to the second round in Kuala Lumpur which will be held W/C June 18th.

A Hero’s Welcome for Our U11 Fobisia Team

At BIS Hanoi, we successfully retain staff through our “Grow Your Own” philosophy.

Our under 11 FOBISIA squad have arrived in Phuket and are currently resting before 3 days of tough competition against some outstanding schools from across South East Asia.

Students not in Year 11 or Year 13 may have enjoyed a long holiday but they are now back at school and should begin planning their revision for the end of year exams.

School libraries should be places of opportunity; learning hubs where students can access the latest information, helping them to succeed in a global, competitive economy.

Year 4 and Year 5 set off this week on their respective residential visits to Ba Vi and Cuc Phuong. With a mixture of trepidation and excitement the children were waved off by parents on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Phase 3 invited parents, staff and pupils to their exhibition on the second floor this morning. It was a wonderful showcase of all the learning that has been taking place over the last term. There were Musical performances, presentations, puppet shows, art activities to name but a few. Our knowledge of rivers was put to the test with a ‘Rivers loop game’, meanwhile in 5B some students had gone missing and been replaced by Mr. and Mrs. Twit from the Roald Dahls classic, the Twits.

Extraordinary is the only way to describe the development of our Year 13 IBDP students over the last two years.

Our Year 8 students are having a great time with their teachers and friends in Cat Ba!

BIS Hanoi’s Business and Economics department are privileged to be working with our students who have potential to be Vietnam’s future leaders.

The British International School IB Visual Arts Exhibition includes paintings, sculptures and photographs from our Year 13 students.

This week we were very lucky to receive an invite to the Secondary IB Art Exhibition. This is an exhibition showcasing the final projects and works of Year 12 and 13 children.
