This week, Year 3 have enjoyed beginning their ‘Save the World - Rainforest’ topic. Many of the students came into school dressed in rainforest themed outfits. They participated in a Virtual Reality Google Expedition to the Amazon rainforest and also completed some rainforest themed artwork. They are now looking forward to learning a lot more about these fascinating habitats and the problems they are facing from the changing world around them.

Year 2 had an exciting entry point into their new topic 'Treasure Island' today through a pirate themed day. At the start of the day, the children created their own pirate name and learnt how to speak like a pirate. We had to use our detective skills on our pirate treasure hunt and also practiced our balancing skills during the 'Walk the Plank' obstacle course. We gathered pirate related facts and completed various creative activities throughout the day. At the end of the day, we completed our knowledge harvest for our new topic and thought about what we already know about pirates and what we would like to learn next. We are really looking forward to starting our new topic next week.
