As part of our IPC Topic Express Yourself, Year 6 students have been looking at the importance of personal and collective responsibility within our local community.
Building on the school’s pre-existing partnerships with local charities, we have been working alongside Blue Dragon (https://www.bluedragon.org/) and Hanoi Pet Rescue (https://hanoipetrescue.org/en/) in Hanoi. Both organisations offer an invaluable support service to vulnerable children, families, and abandoned animals.
On Thursday, our students took part in a Sponsored Run alongside some of the Blue Dragon students who have benefited from previous support and help. The event involved over 70 students and families as we raised our heartbeats as well as awareness and money for both local charities.
In addition, our Year 6 pupils have been designing and creating a series of bookmarks which we have been selling to fellow students and teachers. This enterprise has involved a large degree of organisation, communication alongside an extensive use of our persuasive language skills in English.
If you would like to volunteer or learn more about either charity please click on the above weblinks or speak with one of our highly motivated students.
