British International School Ho Chi Minh City sent 3 teams to the Intermediate Saigon Mathematics Competition held at the American International School on Saturday 11th January.
On 30th November 2019, three teams each consisting of three incredibly talented young mathematicians participated in the Junior Saigon Mathematics Competition 2019.
Whilst proud of the fact that we have been crowned Asia’s best Math’s school for the past two consecutive years in the FOBISIA (Federation of British International School In Asia) Math’s Championships, as a school we do not sit back reflecting on the past.
The Geography Department firmly believe that learning outside of the classroom plays a fundamental role in our students building a deeper understanding and a stronger connection with the world around them, along with the challenges and possibilities that they may impact their lives and communities in the future.
Classes have been digging deep into the past, diving into the world of water and receiving mysterious letters from Magic Toymakers. Our IPC lessons have been packed with investigations, problem solving and creativity!
The Year 13 students have started a new and challenging phase of their Theory of Knowledge course (TOK) with the release of the May 2020 prescribed titles.
The English as an Additional Language (EAL) department works with students whose first language is not English and who therefore need direct support with English.
The BIS English Department traditionally end the academic year with some challenging and enjoyable competitions involving whole year groups at KS3, and this year saw Year 7 classes go head-to-head to find the overall Poetry Recital winner, with Year 8 verbally sparring to decide the year group’s Public Speaking champion.
