Our host, David, welcomed us and then introduced the gathering to five different types of hot tea; English Breakfast, Red Tea, White Tea, French Earl Grey Tea and Chocolate Tea, or for those who preferred it, iced tea or coffee. To compliment the drinks and to make it a truly British event, scones with cream and jam were provided (although there was some debate as to whether the cream should be on top of the jam or vice versa), along with another tea shop favourite, caramel slices. The event ended with an interactive tea game. Villa Royale has a wide selection of teas and everyone had to smell a mystery container to try add guess the flavour of the tea inside. Unfortunately, nobody was able to spot that the tea was in fact 'Love Me'!
Thank you to everyone who attended, and to David and his team at Villa Royale. A special thanks to Anne and the organising committee for suggesting this event and making it happen. It was great to see parents and teachers relaxing in each others company. Events like this one only go to strengthen our community, which in the long run will benefit our children's learning.
