Pick the first 3 words you think of when I say Vietnam
Exciting, bustling, hot
What are your first impressions of BIS?
The children are so friendly and enthusiastic which is brilliant. What I’ve been most surprised about is their manners as so many of them are very polite. The staff have also been very supportive and I feel like I can turn to anyone if I have a question.
What new experience have you had since you arrived in Vietnam?
Running on roads and having to avoid a lot of obstacles. Traffic over here is very different to the UK and even in Thao Dien, which is quiet in comparison to District 1, I have had to run around more scooters than I have ever seen before. It’s giving me much greater spatial awareness!
If you were writing a postcard to friends back home, what would it say?
Hi everyone, Ho Chi Minh City has been great so far. It’s been hot but I’ve managed to cope! I went on a holiday to Hoi An last week where I rode a water buffalo and chilled out in a hammock by the beach. I’m looking forward to seeing you all at Christmas!
