The boys played extremely well and passed the ball around creating a number of chances. They looked threatening when in possession of the ball utilizing the pace of the wide players. The side captained by Soma won 6-0. A special mention to man of the match Hugo for helping to keep a clean sheet at the back and scoring a hat-trick on his debut.

The girls game was a much closer affair with regards to score line. In reality, the BIS team dominated possession and created a host of opportunities. Unfortunately, they found themselves 1-0 down after a quick break from the ISHCMC team. The girls rallied and continued to persevere. A great long range free kick from Sabrina Gladchuck found the top corner of the net only to be disallowed. In the resulting controversy the girls were awarded a penalty which Sabrina calmly dispatched. The second goal came from a Sabrina corner which found its way past the goal keeper. All the girls worked really hard today and deserved to be the winners. Well done.

Final Score: ISHCMC 1 - 2 BIS

Team List: Sara, Amelia, Casi, Sabrina, Mina, Kathy, Kyu In, Daphne, Khanh Linh

Boys and Girls A Teams

This week saw the FOBISIA 2018 Girls Football Team reunite for the first football game of the year against ISHCMC. They were extremely eager to get back out on to the football pitch to work together as a team once again.

Primary Girls

The first half of the game was gripping. BIS dominated possession, the midfield players; Sarah, Ella and Jamie executed some good passes to the BIS striker Xuka who was then able to dribble and drive the ball forward, towards goal. Unfortunately, Xuka was so close to scoring on a couple of occasions but the goal keeper repeatedly saved the ball.

Suddenly ISHCMC stepped up their game and became stronger, making it harder for BIS to regain possession. Thankfully our defence Celina, Alex and Gia Han held their position well and prevented ISHCMC from getting past them.

Towards the end of the second half ISHCMC passed the ball through to their number 11 striker who was super confident on the ball and scored making it 1-0. Nevertheless, BIS girls kept their heads high and persevered ready for the second half.

During the second half, our BIS goal keeper; Ming Yoon was repeatedly tested by the ISHCMC striker. Despite numerous shots at her, Ming Yoon managed to remain calm and confident making some fantastic saves.

From an accurate and powerful goal kick from Ming Yoon, BIS’s left midfielder; Ella, received the ball, passed it to the centre midfielder; Jamie, who then dribbled the ball all the way from the half way line, past 3 defenders to the goal and executed an accurate shot. Unfortunately for BIS, ISHCMC’s goal keeper saved it.

A few moments before the final whistle blew, ISHCMC moved the ball confidently towards the goal, BIS players tried to keep the pressure on, however ISHCMC’s centre midfield player delivered a beautiful pass to the ISHCMC striker and she placed the ball perfectly in the bottom left hand corner making it too difficult for Ming Yoon to save.

Well done girls. You persevered throughout the whole game despite the scorching heat!

Final Score: ISHCMC 2 - 0 BIS

Team List: Ming Yoon, Gia Han, Alex, Celina, Ella, Jamie, Sarah, Xuka

Primary Girls

It has been four months since these boys played together in the FOBISIA meet, everyone seem to be excited to play together once again as for the first time a team against ISHCMC. Without any practice since June, our boys were very enthusiastic and excited to play on the football pitch once again. Coaching them to play the game they loved only needs two simple instructions; enjoy the game and play the game the best that you can.

The boys played their very best even with just one substitute. They made some decent goal-scoring attempts and solid defence was displayed throughout the whole game. Despite BIS’ efforts, ISHCMC were the stronger team and ended up winning. Nevertheless, with such nostalgic moments and fun with one another once again, our boys were mature enough to identify our strategies that need to be strengthened and more so, they are now committed to train more as a team in the coming weeks, as well as looking forward to the upcoming football matches.

Team List: Edward, Terra, Quoc Huy, Toshi, Dong Hee, Isaiah, Nhat Minh and Lewis.
