Year 7 Orientation Update:

It was fantastic to welcome Year 7 students to the campus this week and to provide them with an opportunity to socialise with others in the year group, discuss our protocols for Covid and tour the campus. We started the session by discussing our aims for the day and the challenges of this unique transition to secondary but also the added transition from virtual learning to face-to-face learning. Year 7 were then taken on a detailed tour of the campus by some of our Year 8 and 9 students which culminated in an opportunity to explore the school’s library and withdraw some books.

It was wonderful to witness the students slowly relax as the session went on and they certainly left looking confident, assured and happy about the prospect of learning on campus next term.

Year 12 Prefect Training Day

Yesterday saw thirty Year 12 Prefects descend on the Early Years & Infant Campus for the 2022 Prefect Training Day. Mr Ian, EY&I Headteacher, was quick to bring out the old Tu Xuong Campus Yearbooks to show the F1 photos of our now Year 12 Prefects. It is fantastic to see that so many of our students have grown up as part of the BIS community and are now taking on the role of student leadership. Students participated in escape room activities, learnt some leadership lessons from geese and shared lunch together as a new Prefect team. Students have now begun to undertake duties and will be taking the lead in student leadership committees focusing on academics, student wellbeing and Co-Curricular activities.

Tet Gift Collection 2022- Update from our Student Community Committee

Tết is a very special holiday for the Vietnamese people. It is a time to celebrate the Lunar New Year together with family and friends. At BIS, we aim to make this holiday as joyful as possible for our community partners through the annual Tet Gift Collection.

Each year has been a tremendous success and this year is no exception. As always, we were overwhelmed by the collective efforts of BIS students, parents and teachers in working to collect necessities for this Tet Gift Collection.

Every campus had been allocated a different selection of goods to donate. At the Early Years campus, we received school supplies including colouring pencils, pens, pencils and notebooks. Meanwhile, the Primary campus had been assigned health and sanitation products such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpastes, hand sanitizers, shampoo and women’s hygiene products. Lastly, the Secondary campus was asked to collect donations of food  including instant noodles, fish sauce, condensed milk, oil, rice, and sugar.

The ground floor of the third building in the Secondary campus was decorated with all these donated items, drawing the eyes of all students and teachers as they passed through the area.

Tet 2022 2

The BIS Community Committee would like to again thank everyone who donated to the Tet Gift Collection for you have contributed to brightening up the holiday for our community partners, which is much needed considering the challenges faced by all last year.

On behalf of the BIS Community Committee, Chúc Mừng Năm Mới!
