The Primary Playground Buddies

The Primary Playground Buddies - Playground Buddies
As the school year continues, we are proud to highlight the important role that our Year 5 and Year 6 students are playing as playground buddies. These students have put themselves forward for this responsibility and are now serving as role models for younger children in our school.

The role of a playground buddy is to support younger children in play during morning playtimes, every day. This includes both outdoor and indoor play, ensuring that all children have someone to play with and are able to enjoy their free time. By fostering friendship and helping to create a fun and safe playtime environment, our playground buddies are making a real difference in the lives of our younger students.

One of the ways that our playground buddies are easily recognisable is by the distinctive yellow caps that they wear. This helps to ensure that younger children can easily identify them and feel comfortable approaching them if they need help or someone to play with.

The impact of our playground buddies has been great, and younger children love having older students to play with. Not only does it make playtime more enjoyable, but it also helps to build confidence and develop social skills. Many of our younger students look up to their playground buddies as positive role models, and the support and friendship that they provide can have a lasting impact.

We are grateful for the commitment and dedication of our Year 5 and Year 6 students who have taken on the role of playground buddy. They are making a significant contribution to our school community and helping to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
